Burly Worm Growers Demonstrate Sheet Composting at Hollengold Farm Field Day

Caitlin Quinn and Henning Gentz demonstrated and involved participants in sheet composting at NOFA-NY’s Field Day at Hollengold Farm in Accord on July 31. This simple method of layering  the elements of compost: carbon and nitrogen materials can produce beautiful wormy soil in less than 6 months. Additionally this  method of soil building and “tilling” lets the worms do the work and allows greater flexibility of farm/garden design.
